But what if we told you they aren't being recycled?
Most bags actually end up in landfills overseas,
Or in the ocean, where they break down into nano-particles that compete with plankton for ocean space.
To combat this problem,
We are educating the public and encouraging the use of reusable shopping bags in hopes of reducing their numbers in circulation,
As well as re-purposing the plastic grocery bags by weaving them into sleeping mats
for the homeless population in our community.
